Help Finding Artists for Your School
“Want ideas for Wisconsin artists who can work well with K-12 students? The Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) has two resources for you! Visit Wisconsin Folks, http://www.wisconsinfolks.org, the Wisconsin Arts Board’s on-line curriculum resource. This website is a directory of traditional and ethnic artists who are ready to work with schools in music, dance, foodways, crafts or other genres. For many of the artists, Wisconsin Folks also provides in-depth interdisciplinary curriculum materials for students and teachers to use. This award-winning site has interactive games for students and lots of extensions for teachers. Another source of artists is WAB’s Wisconsin Touring and Artists In Education Directory, http://artsboard.wisconsin.gov
Find artists here in dance, literature, music, theater, and the visual arts. Applicants to WAB’s Creative Communities AIE program DO NOT need to choose an artist from either of these resources for their project.
